Why Halotherapy?

On the whole, studies indicate that nutrients found in salt are essential to your skin, immune system, circulation and body to replenish moisture and offset the harmful toxins we are in contact with daily.

Respiratory Conditions

By mimicking the microclimate of a salt cave, Halotherapy, also known as Salt Room Therapy, is a 100% natural, safe, drug-free therapy that provides relief for many respiratory conditions.

It’s no secret that the number of people suffering from allergies is on the rise and is becoming a serious problem for Americans. Pollen, mold spores, weeds, dust, pet dander, air pollution are just a few of the causes. Salt room therapy eliminates airborne pollen particles from the airway and has a 75-98% efficacy rate for allergy sufferers, with many patients being able to stop using antihistamine, steroids and other drugs after 5-10 sessions. It can be used as a complementary treatment to prescribed medications or as a sole treatment.

Asthma, Bronchitis, Chronic Cough, Hay Fever, Smoker’s Cough

Sitting in the atmosphere of our Himalayan Salt Room naturally opens your intrapulmonary airways so your body can loosen excess mucus that is blocking the bronchi, bronchioles and respiratory bronchioles. As the mucous becomes looser, it is more easily cleared from the respiratory system, to help alleviate chest congestion so you can you start breathing easier. Halotherapy is clinically proven to cleanse the respiratory system and to speed up the elimination of toxins.

Cold & Flu, Sinus Infection

The air composition created by our halogenerator strengthens immunity and better immunity helps fight (and resist) colds, flus and infections.  Our halogenerator produces tiny salt microns (less than 1/1000 of a millimeter) that can safely enter your sinuses and respiratory system where it then absorbs toxic moisture, cleans and clears away excess mucus, gets rid of harmful bacteria, and brings down inflammation. Salt is not only antibacterial, but antiviral, and antifungal as well so there are a variety of cleansing benefits to the salt itself.

COPD, Emphysema, Cystic Fibrosis

Salt therapy can significantly lessen the need for inhalers, steroids and other medications and trips to the hospital for many sufferers of lung disease. By improving lung health, breathing can become easier even after a few sessions. An overwhelming majority of salt room frequenters notice a decrease in cough, both frequency and intensity, and that it’s easier to eliminate the mucus, which becomes less sticky and changes from the salt. Imagine the relief of not having to constantly struggle for breath.

Second Hand Smoke and Air Pollution

Salt therapy is clinically proven to cleanse the respiratory system and to help speed up the elimination of toxins from the body. Salt therapy sessions will help to reduce the negative effects of first-hand or second-hand smoking as well as the air pollutants that come from auto and factory emissions.

Our low stimulus Himalayan Salt Room features a beautiful backlit wall of over 1,000 hand placed Himalayan Salt bricks which you view from one of our comfortable, ergonomic, zero gravity chairs.  During your session, the halogenerator infuses a saline aerosol into the air which create an allergen-free and negative ion charged room which provides even more layers of relaxation. Whether quietly reading a book, meditating or napping, your nervous system will thoroughly enjoy the break from the hustle and bustle of life. Salt rooms greatly helps people who suffer from depression, anxiety, fatigue or just overwhelm from the daily stresses of life.

Sports Performance, Singing Performance, Musical Performances

Salt room therapy sessions improve lung function by not only cleaning out mucus and toxins but also by increasing lung capacity and stamina. This can greatly enhance the performances of athletes, singers and musicians and can be used as part of their training regime.

We are going to break the 4th wall here and say directly to you, that It is not easy to decide which writings and evidence is accurate out there and which is inaccurate. And this is not just on the web, this is even among scientific and published research- any, and all, research can be skewed, can be contradictory and can also not work on every person as reported in trials. We are aware that the belief is that salt room therapy can help people with autism, and that in fact, it is regularly being frequented by families for this purpose, but we could not find a single actual report on this, so we are not comfortable stating it.  What we have done is to allocate specific salt room hours for the autistic community so that they can enjoy these family salt sessions even if they have loud behaviors (as the salt room is a quiet environment usually). We are inviting you all to document your experiences and share them with us.

Skin Conditions

Salt therapy is a clinically proven, safe and beneficial method of treatment for skin conditions in both adults and children.  Because of salt’s natural anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties it can help with many skin conditions.

Because salt is both an anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory powerhouse, it’s effects on acne are astounding.  The salt produced form our halogenerator is not only killing bacteria in the air, on the skin and in the body, it is simultaneously drying out the underlying pimple.

Dermatitis, Eczema, Psoriasis

Halotherapy, also known as salt therapy, is known to be helpful with acute dermatitis and chronic constitutional skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis. Salt therapy actually reduces IgE levels (immune system oversensitivity) so the body does not have to over react to whatever is irritating it. Since eczema and psoriasis run deeper than just skin symptoms, the beauty of salt therapy is that it works on multi-levels. Internally, by lowering the IgE levels, it helps the autoimmune system to work more efficiently. Externally, salt reduces inflammation of the skin and improves circulation on the skin surface. Additionally, salt therapy reduces stress, a known trigger for eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis episodes.
